Les Others + Heatwave

 

Prachtige hete dagen kregen we.

Iedereen loom en lam.

Alles trager dan anders.

Wat is het fijn leven dan.

Ik installeerde voor mezelf een zalig plekje in de schaduw van onze platanen...

tot Clarice dit plekje ook wel kon smaken.

Even werd meer en nog meer, tot ze zelfs de eerste prachteditie van Les Others begon te lezen...

maar toen, toen werd het echt te heet.

en er nooit meer uit.

Het is officieel zomervakantie!

A heatwave kicked in, in Belgium.

I made myself a nice spot in the shadows of our 'platanes' (planes),

until my daughter found it...

She even started reading the first issue of the beautiful magazine 'Les Others'.

But once the heat took over, we took our dresses off and went for an ultralong swim.

Geese feathers

Bossen ganzen veren.

Handen vol.

Fietszakken vullen.

Kleren uit.

Zwembroek aan.

Fris water.

Brandende zon.

Verdampende waterdruppels.

Droge huid.

Schaduw...

het beste dat de zon ons geeft.

Handdoek uitrollen.

Lange platte lijven.

Ogen toe.

Luie dagen.

De zomer is hier.

Vakantie lonkt.

Bessen lonken.

Vogels komen.

Kinderhanden knijpen.

Rode handen.

Plakken en likken.

Wat een feest.

Mandjes.

Bessen vliegen in het rond.

Rustig...

ça Passe-Vite!

Neteldoeken.

Bessen rijgen.

Wassen.

Suikeren.

Pruttelen.

Scheppen.

Plakken.

Likken.

Deksels dichtschroeven.

Fier...

etiketten kleven.

De potjes confituur staan klaar.

O, Vakantie, waar blijf je?

What a feast!

New frames + Saar Manche

When repainting the rest of our corridor (part1, see here), we also selected some new decoration for our walls.

We chose simple black frames.

We would print our own black and white (holiday)pictures to fill them up, but then I thought of all the nice cards and old drawings which I bought in Firenze (here) and Sevilla (here), last year.

I took them outside, 

and loved to do this quitely on my own, 

but it isn't easy to take good pictures...

The small frames have drawings of characters of the Commedia dell'Arte.

The larger frames hold replica's of old animaldrawings, cut from an old book, which I bought at the large fleemarket in Sevilla.

Filling frames is one thing, choosing how to put them on a big wall, is another...

so for now, they still have to wait a little ;-)

Any good ideas?

I also ordered 2 nice paintings, made by Saar Manche, at Pépin La Lune in Brussels. I love Saar's sence of style, which you can clearly see in her pictures and illustrations, on her blog and on Instagram.

They fit nicely with the black frames but for now, I've put them elsewhere.

A house continuously evolves...

and so it should.

Time

Home alone.
Rain and sun at the same time, outside.

Silence, inside.

Just taking some pictures here and there.

Arranging the 2 peacock feathers, our boy collected on his way back home.

Reading some fine recipes and stories.

Thinking of what we shall eat later on, 
while time ticks on and on
and my coffee drips slowly into the Italian espressomaker.

I wish all days would last a little longer...

but for now I do like watching time tick by on my new watch, a perfect gift from my love...
